Sample summary from a visit record

Clean isn't the same as maintained

Your staff keeps it clean. We keep it working.

Cleaning teams handle the daily work. The mechanical upkeep, which takes the right lubricant, the right spec and a trained eye, usually isn't anyone's job.

Your cleaning team

  • Wipe-downs between uses
  • Sanitizing handles and pads
  • Floors, mirrors and trash

IronKept, every quarter

  • ✓Rust treated before it spreads
  • ✓Treadmills lubricated when they're due
  • ✓Accessible hardware kept tight
  • ✓Wear spotted while it's still small
  • ✓A dated record of every visit

What we do

Four services. Simple, repeatable, on a schedule.

The same procedures every visit, about 1 to 2 hours on site, so nothing depends on who remembered.

  1. 01

    Rust prevention & treatment

Light surface rust treated on barbells and exposed steel, then a protective coat to slow it coming back.

  2. 02

    Treadmill lubrication

Belt and deck lubrication with a manufacturer-compatible lubricant, when the manufacturer's guidance says it's due.

  3. 03

    Hardware maintenance

Accessible bolts and fasteners checked, and tightened where the manufacturer's spec and the right tools allow.

  4. 04

    Preventive equipment checks

A visual walk-through for obvious wear, corrosion and loose parts, with anything that needs a specialist written up.

Fig. 1 · Rust prevention · barbell

1234
  1. 1Knurling. Brushed out first, so the treatment reaches the steel instead of the chalk.
  2. 2Sleeves. Light surface rust treated on exposed steel.
  3. 3Shaft. Surface rust treated, then a thin protective coat to slow it coming back.
  4. 4Collars. Checked for play or grinding. Worn bushings get flagged for a specialist.

Fig. 2 · Treadmill lubrication · when due

2341
  1. 1Is it due?. We check the manufacturer's interval and the belt before anything else. Many visits, the answer is no.
  2. 2Belt and deck. When it's due, a manufacturer-compatible lubricant goes between the belt and deck.
  3. 3Tracking. We watch the belt run. If it drifts off center, it goes in the report for a technician.
  4. 4Frame hardware. Accessible bolts on the frame and uprights are checked and tightened to spec.

What upkeep is worth

Cheap to maintain. Expensive to replace.

When a treadmill belt runs dry, it drags on the deck. The motor works harder to keep speed, runs hot, and the motor and control board take the strain. Lubricating when the manufacturer says it's due costs very little. The parts it protects don't.

Rust works the same way on steel: a light treatment early beats replacing a bar later.

  • Treadmill lubricant

    What lubrication costs in materials

    $10–$25

  • Running belt replacement

    Parts and labor

    $160–$350

  • Drive motor replacement

    Higher on commercial models

    $300–$1,800

  • Motor control board

    Replacement with labor

    $1,000–$1,800

  • New commercial treadmill

    Depending on brand and tier

    $3,000–$12,000

Typical published ranges, not quotes; your costs will vary. Lubrication doesn't prevent every failure. Sources: Airtasker, WalkingPad, Core Health & Fitness.

The honest audit

We don't sell equipment. We don't do repairs.

Repair shops get paid when equipment breaks. Dealers get paid when you replace it. We only get paid to keep it working, so when we flag something, it's worth a look.

When something needs a specialist

  1. 01

    We write it up

Photo, exact location and what we saw, marked either monitor or needs a specialist.

  2. 02

We tell you before we leave

If something looks unsafe to use, like a fraying cable, we tell whoever is on site and recommend taking it out of service.

  3. 03

    We recommend a next step

Keep an eye on it, or call a repair technician. You choose who does the repair.

  4. 04

    You confirm you've seen it

Flagged items ask for an acknowledgment, so there's a record the issue was received.

  5. 05

    We check it next visit

Every open item is looked at again, and the record notes whether it was fixed.

After every visit

The work is done. The proof is yours.

A dated record lands in your inbox within 24 hours. Keep it on file for your owner, a repair tech, or anyone who asks when the equipment was last looked after.
